Welcome to Transformatire:

Turning Waste into Sustainable Solutions

The Tire Waste Challenge

Every year, over 1 billion waste tires are generated worldwide, creating one of the most significant and persistent environmental issues.

Tires are notoriously difficult to dispose of:

They don’t break down in landfills, often taking hundreds of years to decompose.

Stockpiled tires can become breeding grounds for dangerous pests and pose significant fire hazards.

In the U.S. alone, only 80% of waste tires are recycled or repurposed and that percentage varies in different regions of the country.

The breakdown?

About 40% are shredded and used as tire-derived fuel (TDF), aka burned for energy, but this releases pollutants into our atmosphere.

About 25% are recycled into crumb rubber for playgrounds or asphalt but is an expensive process and has limited demand.

Another 15% are reportedly used in civil engineering projects.

But what about the remaining 20% or 50,000,000 (yes 50 Million) tires in this country alone?

Millions of tires still end up in landfills or illegally dumped, contributing to an environmental crisis that we can no longer ignore.

Tennessee and other states have outlawed putting whole tires into landfills.

Regular maintenance is crucial to keep your vehicle running smoothly and prevent costly breakdowns. We recommend following your manufacturer's recommended maintenance schedule, which can typically be found in your owner's manual. This schedule typically includes services like oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid checks. In general, a standard guideline is to have your vehicle serviced every 3,000 to 5,000 miles, but this can vary depending on your vehicle's make and model. If you're unsure, our experienced technicians can provide personalized recommendations based on your driving habits and vehicle specifications.
